When clicking on the CPT button and you receive the error “ the CPT is not associated with the price list”
Why does this happen?
- CPT code is not on the Price List attached to the Patient Case
- The start date for that CPT code is not backdated to cover the DOS you are attempting to attach it to.
- If using the OTC area a CPT Code does not indicate on the Price List that an appointment is not required
- The CPT code and description used to create the CPT code button was not the EXACT one used to display on the price list.
Follow these steps:
Example 1:
"CPT code is not on the Price List attached to the Patient Case"
You would find that CPT code on your current price list and change the start date for it to before the DOS you want to apply it to Save.
Ex. DOS is 8/25/20, you would change the Start date to 8/24/20 for that CPT code
Go to Admin>
Price List> Add CPT
The CPT code will present itself at the bottom of the list. You will fill out all necessary details and Save them. Don't FORGET to backdate the Start to BEFORE the date of service you want to apply the CPT code to.

Example 2:
"The start date for that CPT code is not backdated to cover the DOS you are attempting to attach it to"
First, go to Admin>Price List>Select EXACT Price List the patient is attached to from drop-down to ensure the Start date is before the date of service you are trying to apply the charge to
If any changes are made, make sure you click Save
Example 3:
"If using the OTC area a CPT Code does not indicate on the Price List that an appointment is not required"
Go to Admin>Price List>Select EXACT Price List the patient is attached to from drop-down to ensure the “Appointment Required” Box is not checked for any CPT code where OTC can be used.
Example 4:
"The CPT code and description used to create the CPT code button was not the EXACT one used to display on the price list"
When adding in new CPT codes, it is imperative that the same CPT code + Description that was used to create the button is the same CPT + Description added to the Price List and Fee Schedules being used in the database.
