How to Attach a Responsible Party to a Patient Statement
The Responsible party is accountable for settling the balance for Patient Care. It can be the Patient themself, A child with Divorced Parents, A college student away from home, an elderly patient, guardian, etc. Assigning a responsible party for a Patient statement is not just about sending a bill, its about ensuring the financial aspect of the care received is handled with as much precision and attention as the treatment itself.
*NOTE: This setup only affects Patient Statements
Lets Get Started...
First, Open Patient File>Patient Tab>Edit
To the far Right of the screen in the Responsible Party section, you will see the box checked next to "Address same as patient" - This is a default setting
- Leave this box checked if Patient address should not change.
- Unchecking this box allows a different Address, City, State & Zip to be entered in.
*In this Image example, Holly Claus is the Responsible party, but lives at the same address as Santa Claus
*In this Image example, Holly Claus is the Responsible party, but lives at a different address than Santa Claus. This is the address I would like displayed on Patient Statements generated for Santa Claus:
Next, Save your Changes
Once this information is saved, it will generate on ANY patient statement you generate for this patient, whether generated individually or within a Bulk generation.
Now, Generate your Patient Statement!
Depending on the information you entered into the Patient File>Patient Tab>Responsible Party... You will now see the Responsible party information displayed on your Patient Statement:
